Josh joins judges for Miss Universe Canada Pageant
Paralympian, Josh Cassidy, Canada’s no.1 men’s wheelchair racer joins the panel of Judges at the prestigious Miss Universe Canada Pageant at the John Bassett Theatre, Toronto, this weekend.
Judge Josh will be assessing the 63 competitors at the first pageant on Saturday 12th June, interviewing on Sunday, with the final pageant and the announcement of Miss Universe Canada being made on the evening of Monday 14th.
Said Josh: “It’s an honor to be a part of this prestigious event. I hope to help identify our Miss Canada for 2010 by using the knowledge I have personally gained by representing Canada on the world stage. I want to see who knows what it takes to be the best in our country and the best in the world. It will be a fun event and I am really looking forward to it!”
Josh represented Canada in the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games; he is the Canadian Champion, and Canadian record holder in 5000m, 10000m and recently won the Virgin London Marathon so is familiar with the pressure involved in being a role model and an ambassador for his country.
He is also a graduate of Sheridan College, Toronto and knows only too well the importance of education, setting goals and pursuing your dreams; all central philosophies of The Beauties of Canada Organization – the body responsible for the Miss Universe Canada Pageant.
“This is an exciting year, where we have brilliant, ambitious Canadian women from all walks of life competing to represent our country on the world stage. Not only are this year’s delegates multicultural diverse, but all have different academic, humanitarian, intellectual and other goals that they work to shed a spotlight on through this competition,” says Denis Davila, National Director of Miss Universe Canada.
The winner will represent our country in the 2010 Miss Universe competition later this summer. The 2010 Miss Universe® Pageant is to Air Live on NBC From Las Vegas on Monday, August 23.
